The Wall (To Rahul Dravid)

The wall has fallen,
The bricks are scattered,
Not a surprise it was,
Cracks were there to see,
Not for the naive,
But for the connoisseurs like you and me.
For years have seen it fighting the enemy,
Be it winter, summer or spring.
On dusty grounds and green fields.
He was there,with splintered bricks,
Like a pole star guiding others silently.
In his company, others prospered.
He fought and struggled,
But lived to see another day.
It was not the talent,
But there was a vow,
Never to relent.
There was no hurry,
There was no fury,
Like a reservoir of strength.
Waiting to explode silently,
To achieve the goal.
He perfectly played his role.
There were no tears or the good bye Kiss,
It's your fight that we will really miss.
